    Happy bday to me!

This is my cake from mom and six. Yay!

And they didn't think I could do it in one breath!

I did. Years of flute playing paid off!

    2nd hand coolness

    I held an iPhone.
    It wasn't mine.
    But I figured something out.
    Neat.

    Pocket PC @ 7

Yes... My sis gave my son her old pocket pc phone. Phone does not work, of course. But the rest does. Even has a keyboard that rolls up and plugs in.

    Cool stuff.

Is this my turn to say those ever-spoken words... "NOT FAIR!"

    Lessons

My mom is having an outdoor party and Noah had to launch a rocket for everyone. We had a little trouble, but uncle Clif gave us a lesson!

    Morning @ the park

A friend of mine is facing challenging circumstances. We met this morning, talked, laughed, cried, and prayed.

We talked about decisions. And was reminded of some 40,000 feet lessons.

When we are faced w/ important decisions, all of us want to be wise. Sometimes when we consider all the options and then look through the Bible for clarity, we can actually find scripture to support either side of an argument. And we can wind up feeling anything but wise.

We want to do the right thing. Sometimes when we consider everything and weigh things honestly it seems like there is one wrong option, and then there are options that are equally right. And we don't feel particularly more or less 'right' about any of those options.

We want to be courageous. But when we are faced with our options, none of which we may particularly like, we feel skiddish. We don't feel brave at all.

That's when community is important. Friendship is crucial in those moments where we wish things were clearer. I believe God delights in it when we face challenges together, encourage and lift each other up, and trust that he is leading us through the maze of options. We learn so much from each other. We become closer and our lives are richer.

    Thanks, friend.

    And thank you Abba.

    Friends (Shane)

This is my friend Shane. Back in the day (about 15 yrs ago) we were constantly coming up w/ New Community service ideas @ our church (Community Church of Waterford). I knew him before I knew Caryn, and they knew each other for 8 yrs or so before that!

We had many talks, @ night, during the day, anytime. I grew so much in those days. We laughed together, cried together, worshiped together, and created together.

He's got more creativity in his little finger than I have in my entire body. And he uses more in a 24hr period than I do in a year. I love what he makes up. It inspires me.

Neither of us are perfect. But we are good friends. No matter how much time passes between our visits, we don't drift away from each other.

It's the kind of friendship that God gives when ppl are honest w/ each other and w/ Him. He's moving to Florida soon to work for Disney. And somehow the miles don't phase the bond.

I want to show more pics of my friends here. And it makes sense I should start w/ Shane. He's one of the best.

Thank you, Shane. You have a piece of my heart with you where ever you go.

And thank you, Abba. You have taught me how to love, how to learn, and what it means to be a friend.
